The day will be first dedicated to a theoretical approach of Research Data Long Term Preservation (RDLTP) through perspectives significance for Data Governance and Data Quality Assessment, for Open Science requirements and for the entire Research Data Life Cycle. The lesson will then focus on Research Data backup and archiving processes with an overview of LOCKSS (LOts of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and other preservation architectures. Second half of the day will be devoted to an interactive lesson on the OAIS (Open Archival Information System) standard, with general discussion, and finally include a demonstration of the Swiss national Research Data repository OLOS.
