Vasiliki Foufi PhD

FAIR4Health: Improving Health Research in EU through FAIR Data
Dr. Vasiliki Foufi, holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics and a Master in Applications of Technology in Language Sciences and Communication. Currently, she is Research and Teaching Fellow in the Division of Medical Information Sciences (University Hospitals of Geneva and University of Geneva) where she leads the Symbolic Reasoning group. She has conducted research in the field of Natural Language Processing in collaboration with the Laboratoire d’Analyse et de Technologie du Langage (University of Geneva, Switzerland), the Institut d’Electronique et d’Informatique Gaspard-Monge (Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée University, France) and the Laboratory of Translation & Natural Language Processing (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). Her research interests lie in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Corpus Analysis, Information Extraction, Named Entity Recognition, Information Visualization, Terminology in several languages. She is reviewer in well-known conferences in the fields of Computational Linguistics and Medical Informatics and well-established journals. Currently, she participates in many projects funded by a) the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) (e.g. DeID/ De-identification of clinical narrative data in French, German and Italian, SPO: Swiss Personalised Oncology), b) the Swiss National Foundation (e.g. PNR 74 “Smarter Health Care”), c) the EU (e.g. FAIR4Health).
