Caterina Barillari PhD

openRDM.swiss : a national research data management service for the Swiss scientific community
Caterina Barillari is RDM Service Manager at the Scientific IT Services of ETH Zurich. She graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Milan in 2001. After a short experience as medicinal chemist in the private sector, she pursued a PhD in Computational Chemistry at the University of Southampton, UK. She then held a Marie Curie fellowship in chemoinformatics at the CNRS in Strasbourg, France, and she later worked as chemoinformatician at the Institute of Cancer Research in Sutton, UK. Caterina joined the group working on openBIS development at ETH Zurich in 2011. This group became part of a new IT section of ETH Zurich, Scientific IT Services (SIS), in 2013. Caterina has always been working at the interface between scientists and software engineers, fostering the user-driven development of openBIS. Since 2018, she is managing the RDM services based on the openBIS platform offered by SIS at ETH Zurich and for the Swiss academic community, as part of the openRDM.swiss project, mandated by swissuniversities.
