Three years of publishing data in ETH Zurich’s Research Collection: Lessons learned and new developments
Biography
Barbara Hirschmann is Head of E-Publishing at ETH Library. She oversees the operation of ETH Library’s publication services including open access consulting and training, an APC funding service, the DOI registration service, and the image management platform E-Pics. Additionally, she manages the professional operation and ongoing development of the Research Collection, ETH Zurich’s repository for publications and research data. In her previous position at ETH Library, she managed a multi-year project that led to the launch of the Research Collection as ETH Zurich’s institutional repository. She also has extensive experience in training researchers on open access publishing, copyright, and data publishing. Barbara Hirschmann has a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Vienna. She completed a postgraduate training as an academic librarian at the Ibero-American Institute, Berlin and the Bavarian State Library, Munich. Before joining ETH Library, she worked as a subject specialist and information literacy expert at Bamberg University Library.
