DMLawTool : A Guiding Tool for Researchers to Address Legal Aspects in Data Management
Biography
Anna Picco-Schwendener is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and a scientific collaborator at USI’s eLearning Lab (www.elearninglab.org). She got a PhD in Communication Sciences with a thesis on “Social Dimensions of Public Large-Scale Wi-Fi Networks: The Cases of a Municipal and a Community Wireless Network". She is currently in charge of the project CCdigitallaw (www.ccdigitallaw.ch), which aims at building up a competence center in digital law for Swiss Higher Education Institutions and is a lecturer for the courses Online Communication Design and E-Government. Furthermore she is part of the Operative Unit of the Lugano Living Lab - L*3 (https://luganolivinglab.ch) and works on various projects such as the Interreg Project MARKS and a project fostering sustainable tourism in Machu Picchu. Her research focuses on e-Government, online communication, municipal and community wireless networks, usage practices, motivations, eLearning, and digital law aspects. She grew up in the German speaking part of Switzerland and graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences with a major in Communication Technologies from the Università della Svizzera italiana. After her degree she worked for several years in the communication and IT field of an important steel trading company (Duferco SA) in Lugano, being in charge of the company’s Intranet.
